This is a framed photograph of a male Ruby-Throated hummer. These guys zip in and out of our backyards from feeder to plant to feeder and occasionally resting in the trees. This photograph was taken near hibiscus flowers from a tripod at a very fast shutter speed with an accompanying flash.
The photo has been mounted and framed in a handmade cedar frame that measures 16x17" overall. It is not removable from the frame. The frame also has a piece of poplar that's been painted white as an additional trim to bring out the color contrast of the image. It is a handmade, one of a kind piece.
The photo was taken in the backyard of our shop in Copley, Ohio. Hummingbird photography is very challenging but interesting and requires a lot of patience!
